The Story The Story
In a world of selflessness and good will to man, in our own country and countries abroad, are we really as selfless as we proclaim. We constantly give to organizations to help fund cures for various diseases, organizations that help feed the hungry, and even organizations that help feed and shelter animals, but is there really a cost to that giving. Would we really give so freely if it cost us something more than time or money.
The C.U.R.E. challenges our giving, because the giving and saving of others comes at a cost, a precious cost, our own conscience.
Michael Alvarez is a research scientist for the Center for Disease Control on the brink of discovering a cure for cancer. Suddenly, all of his research is destroyed, countless years of work gone. He gets the feeling that he is being followed, but by who? Who would want to sabotage such a breakthrough? Alvarez’s world is going to be ripped apart, because even doing good deeds sometimes comes at an expensive price. Alvarez will be whisked away into a world of conspiracy, along with others who will be asking themselves, WWID (What Would I Do)?
Cynthia Townsend, the director of The C.U.R.E., has grown up having to take care of herself. Not knowing love can cause a person to become cold and heartless, seemingly able to do the difficult tasks that others may not be able to do. But, is that necessarily true? Or does growing up alone cause the opposite reaction, doing any and everything possible to achieve that love and show that love that was never shown to her.
John Casey, the “privileged” debonair, yet amazingly brilliant scientist who was given everything he wanted, materialistically, but never truly given the attention of his father he so craved. His arrogance makes you despise him, but his masterly mind makes you cheer him on.
Jason Wong has always been a shy, quiet soul whose only desire is to please others, mostly his father. He is on the crust of a major discovery, an external and internal discovery. His father has kept a secret from him for years that will create a rift, a great divide that most likely can never be closed.
Then let’s not forget that beautiful and intriguing Sarah Drew, the gorgeous bombshell that is underestimated by many. She lets the world know that the combination of good looks and brains equals masterpiece, something Sarah never thought she’d achieve with the dark cloud of doubt and vicious and painful memories that she could never erase.
